Book Alert!

I just received an email from an on-line pal who spotted copies of IMMORTAL WARRIOR in stacks of books about to be shelved in a mall in Michigan. She gets an ARC of the next book (Immortal Outlaw, June ’09) for being first reporter, but the rest of you have a chance to win an ARC, as well.

Comment on this post with your first sighting, or most unusual sighting, in your area.  I’ll draw three names from those who comment by Nov. 8 and ship you an Outlaw ARC as soon as they become available next spring.

And remember:  The official release date just happens to be Election Day here in the States.  Pick up your copy of Immortal Warrior early in the day, then carry it into the polls for while you’re standing in line. Let’s start a movement:  Books and Ballots.

UPDATE 11/11/08:  Winners were picked and announced HERE, but you’re still invited to post your sightings.  I love to know where this hunk o’ burnin’ love is being found!

UPDATE 12/01/08:  Anyone who would like to do so is encouraged to also post a review at Amazon or B&N online.  Such reviews help to sell the book, and all authors appreciate you taking the time to do them.

  1. Since I don’t live anywhere close to a real bookstore, I’m probably not going to get a sighting in the next week, but ::SQUEE:: on it being out and about!

  2. That’s okay. I’m looking for the oddball ones, especially: grocery stores, airport/hospital gift shops, minimarts, gas stations, etc.

  3. I spotted it and got it in Casselberry, Fl. at BAM.
And today is the perfect day to sit back and read as our weather is iffy.

  4. I spotted and got it at the Wal-Mart in Sanford on 17-92 yesterday and was up until 3 a.m. this morning with it. I’ts a fantastic must read!

  5. Sorry for those who don’t know Sanford’s in FL whats up Kim in Casselberry, yes today is a perfect book day in Central FL!

  6. I saw Immortal Warrior this morning at the Walmart in Royal Palm, FL

  7. I got it from SF Bokhandeln in Stockholm, Sweden yesterday.

  8. Wow! Stockholm. I had no idea. Thanks, Eva.

I hope my Vikings don’t upset too many historians over there. I tried very hard to get the details right, but I did take some literary license…

  10. Hi Lisa:
I bought the last copy at Bookland in Griffin, GA today! Looking forward to curling up with it tonight.

  11. Hi! Lisa
I was at Borders on Saturday, in Colleyville, TX. Saw the cover and started to read it there … Had to pick it up. I can’t wait for the next one in the series. Always loved me some Vikings.

  12. Hello, I found the book this morning in LeMars, Iowa. I finally had a chance to sit and read, worth every bit of the last 4.5 hours and all I can say is please hurry with the rest. I can hrdly wait. Tomorrow I’m off to the big city book store to find any other books written by Lisa Hendrix. You have become a favorite of mine in one night. Thank-you

  13. I found a copy at the Borders in Everett, WA. It was shelved face out and there were only 2 copies left.

  14. Hi Lisa, i was actually in barnes&nobles in new york city looking for another book when i spotted yours in new releases..lol..the first time i looked at it i put it back down thinking \now everyone wants to write about immortals\. Fortunately, i didnt see another book i liked so i came back to it thinking i would give it a try…wowwwwwwwww…i started and finished it in about four hours…and now i am totally upset to see that it is the first in this series(it had better be a series). I sure hope you write fast because i can barely wait for the next book…You have officially now been added as one of my favorite authors…

  15. I found a copy at Barnes And Nobels in Palm Springs, Ca not lined up but sitting with its face out!!! I only pick up books that are displayed like that. bought it on a whim and fell in love with it!!! Cant wait for the next ones!!! I am now a faithful reader I wont be happy till i know all the stories!! Especially if you write one on the lion!!!!!!

  16. I read this book in just a few hours and found it just as spectacular as Andre Norton’s-Breed to Come and James Patterson’s-Maximum Ride. I absolutly love novels like these, where human and animals cohabitate as one essiential being (are as one). I’ve written, but not published this very thing myself but more like patterson than yours my freshman year (’02) in school before patterson’s novel in ’05.I’m sure I’ll be further impressed by the rest, please keep going. =) 🙂 +)

  17. It took Me a little over a day and a half to read this book {done around work and My studies} and I found it readying Me for the next… Which, thankfully I have found comes out soon… thank You Lisa it was a good read… I found My copy in Hermiston Oregon’s Wal-mart…and I am waiting for the next set to hit the shelves with edged impatience.

  18. Ooh, “edged impatience.” Nice turn of phrase, Katt. A writer, I’m guessing.

And much thanks to the rest of you. The contest is over, but keep posting spottings, comments, or questions.

Oh, and anyone who’d like to post their review at Amazon, B&N online, etc., would have my eternal gratitude.

  19. i picked up your book in Grand Forks North Dakota great book had it read in one snowy afternoon cant wait for the next one

  20. I bought my copy at Walmart in Tempe, AZ. But, I am sure it is in the Fry s Grocery Store. I buy my book at Walmart when I can, since they are low priced and I don’t have to pay for shipping or come up with a minimum order.

I did enjoy the story. It is a new twist melding the cursed into animal form theme with totem/icon hunt for redemption. It is refreshing that these poor men, as strong and intelligent as they are, are completely clueless. My husband can’t even play chess (accusing me of cheating even with witnesses, and causing my game boards to magically get stolen in the move *grin*) would never just wander around for a week, let alone several lifetimes.

I will be looking for the rest of the books.

    Luck and happiness
    Kesh

  21. Just spotted your book on ebookcrescent.com and it sounds interesting. I have recently committed to only buying electronic books because not only is it good for the environment but it helps keep the clutter down in my house. First time reader of your work… will let u know what i think…

  22. I just spotted your book on ebookcrescent.com. If you don’t have easy access to a bookstore, ebooks are the way to go. This is just one of the site that i frequent.

  23. I bought my copy at the Wal-Mart in Lacey, WA. I can’t wait for the story to continue! I love reading books that are part of a series, that way the story doesn’t have to end right away and I can enjoy it a little longer. (this is just the beginning isn’t it?)

  24. I purchased my copy at WalMart in Mount Dora, FL. I fell in love with this book and even had to call in work today to finish it. The only sad part is I wish I would have finished it last night before the contest closed. I so wanted one of those flygia’s!!!. I can’t wait for the next one to come out. I think it will be about Brand this time, but any of them would suit me fine. I will have to save my PTO for the next one. Thank you so much Lisa!!

  25. I purchased my copy at Wal-Mart in Texarkana, TX, I have never read any from Lisa Hendrix and since this is the type of paranormal romances I prefer. Like, Christine Feehan, Lynsay Sands, Karen Moning, etc. I was looking for more authors until others books become available. I enjoyed Immortal Warrior immensely and can’t wait for the sequel to continue. I guess I will have to find more authors since I read this book in 3 days. Thanks for the great read!

  26. Keep those spottings coming!

Dawn — I’m so sorry you didn’t take a few moments to enter the contest. You really didn’t have to finish before you could enter (though I do appreciate your faithfulness to the spirit of the game).

You can buy a fylgja amulet like Ivo’s of your own at Wodanesdag Celtic and Viking Craftworks:

  27. I bought this book at Walmart in Augusta GA. I read it in one very rainy gloomy day. It was wonderful, I can’t wait to read the next one. I haven’t read a book this good since the Skye O’malley series from Beatrice Small. Wonderful read, can’t wait for the next one!

  28. I live in San Diego CA, went to Plano TX on a business trip last week and found the Warrior at a Wal-Mart. As an avid reader of both paranormals and historial romanaces I could not resist the call of the Warrior. I have not gotten anything accomplished today, except to read this fantastic book from cover to cover. I suspect I will have to work into the night to make up the four hours lost, but it was well worth it. You have been added to my list for favorite authors right along side Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Amanda Ashley. I cannot wait for the next in the series. Well wrote Ms. Hendrix, Well wrote.

  29. The book caught my eye as I was in Wegman’s (grocery store) in Fairfax, VA. I have only had it for 6 hours and am half way through. Can’t wait for the next installment…..

  30. I spotted IMMORTAL WARRIOR in a Walmart in Huntsville, AL. I must admit I never heard of Lisa Hendrix and of course never read an of her books. The title grabbed me and I picked up the book read the back and I thought…lets give it a try. I could not put the book down…it captured me from the time I hit chapter one until the epilogue! I can not wait until the next on is released! I have my favorite authors…therfore I never looked for more….YOU are NOW on my fav list with Christen Feehan, Angela Knight, Nora Roberts,Sandra Brown, Iris Johansen, Sherilyn Kenyon and Christine Warren. Great spinning!
